/ Man was attacked outside a pub in Failsworth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked outside a pub in Failsworth.

At about 10.20pm on Sunday 26 February 2017, a 26-year-old man was leaving the Mare and Foal pub on Ashton Road West, when he walked by a large group of 20-30 men, who were fighting with bottles and bats outside the pub.

The victim tried to avoid the group but he was struck on the head with from behind, and he fell to the ground, where he was kicked in his body.

The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for a two inch wound to the top right of his head and one inside his mouth.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable Nichola Chapman of GMP’s Oldham Borough said: “An innocent man was attacked, despite trying to avoid the group.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw the fight, or has information about who was involved, to come forward.”
