CCTV footage released after robbery in Droylsden

Police have released CCTV footage after money was dropped in a hapless robbery in Droylsden.

Shortly before 1pm on Saturday 17 March 2018, two men went into a travel agents on Queens Walk and demanded money from members of staff inside.

Threatened, the staff gave the two offenders money, which they stuffed down their trousers before fleeing towards Craven Street, where they got into a silver car.

CCTV footage police have released shows two men running down a street with escaped notes catching in the wind behind them.

Detective Constable Phil Scargill of GMP’s Tameside borough, said: “This duo threatened innocent people working in the travel agents and should know their actions are utterly unacceptable.

“We would like to speak to the two men in the CCTV footage in connection with this incident, but we need the public’s help with this.

“I’d urge anyone who saw something that stood out from the ordinary that day, or who caught sight of the offenders as they fled from the travel agents, to please get in touch with police and share what you know.”
