Man in court after handbag thefts in Ashton-Under-Lyne

A man has been charged after two women had their handbags stolen in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

Mark Lamb (19/11/68) of Park Street has been charged with two counts of robbery and will appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 10 January 2019).

He has also been charged with Section 39 assault and two counts of possession of Class A drugs.

Tameside Operation Support Unit has been investigating reports that two women had had their handbags stolen in the Stockport Road area between 4.30pm and 5pm on Thursday 3 January 2019.

There were no reported injuries.
